“Cybersecurity isn’t just about commands; it’s a duality between chaos and order, between yin and yang.”
Hi! I’m Luis Moreno. I am a Cybersecurity Architect, Pentester and lifelong learner who found in cybersecurity the perfect balance between technology, art and a philosophy of life.
I have spent over a decade surfing the world of offensive and defensive security. I’ve had the opportunity to help major financial institutions and multinational corporations to improve their security postures, I have earned certifications as Ethical Hacker, Cloud Security specialist AWS, and CISSP, among others. What I’ve learned in this field is that, just like in life, if you don’t adapt and evolve, you get left behind.
Why this blog?
This space, DCOD (Cybersecurity and Other Dualities) — did you catch that? Decode! ;) — was born from a personal need to share. Here, you won’t just find technical write-ups or security tips; I also write about music, sports, and philosophy. I firmly believe that a well-rounded hacker is one who understands the world beyond the terminal.
Projects & Community
My current mission is to democratize knowledge. I don’t believe security should be a privilege for the few, but a right for everyone.
Kolibërs Group – Security for those who move the world
After years in the corporate sector, I realized that SMEs (which sustain our economy) were left unprotected due to high industry costs. In 2018, I formalized Kolibërs Group to provide high-end pentesting services to businesses of all sizes.
Social Impact: If you lead an NGO or a non-profit, reach out to me. We often perform free assessments for causes that are worth the effort.
Hackvolution – Free Training
Hackvolution is my way of “giving back” to the community for everything the internet has given me. We offer free guides and training for those who want to start their career as ethical hackers from scratch.
Mexico City Cybersecurity Meetup
I am a co-organizer of this group where we meet once a month in Mexico City. If you’re in town, come join us for a coffee and talk security! No matter your skill level, everyone is welcome.
Got a question or just want to say hi? I love learning from others. You can reach me through my social media or by sending me a message in the contact section. Thanks for being here!
